Thai police seized about 180,000 disposable e-cigarettes worth more than $1.02 million

Thailand's Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Bureau officers raided two large e-cigarette warehouses in Pathum Thani and seized 183,350 disposable e-cigarettes worth more than $1.02 million. According to thethaiger recently reported, Thailand's Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) officers raided two large e-cigarette warehouses in Pathum Thani Province and seized 183,350 disposable e-cigarettes worth more than 36 million baht (about $1.02 million).

 

It is reported that Nopphorn, a 32-year-old warehouse manager, was arrested with five other workers. The raid originated from the early investigation of the First Branch of CCIB in March, when the police discovered large-scale sales of e-cigarettes through Facebook pages in Bangkok's Bang Krabi District.

Under Thailand's Customs Act 2017 (Customs Act B.E. 2560), those involved face charges of possessing or receiving e-cigarettes, including penalties for concealing, distributing, facilitating the sale, purchasing or receiving such items.

 

According to reports, those involved may be subject to up to five years in prison, or a fine of four times the value of the goods (including customs duties), or both.
