The Luxembourg Environmental Authority (Dé Lëtzebuerger Ëmweltverwaltung, AEV) inspected 45 samples of e-cigarettes and e-liquids. The investigation showed that 39 of them did not comply with Luxembourg's tobacco law and were not registered.

According to RTL on July 31, the Luxembourg Environmental Authority (Dé Lëtzebuerger Ëmweltverwaltung, AEV) inspected 45 samples of e-cigarettes and e-liquids. Among the 45 samples, 86% of the products (39) did not comply with Luxembourg's tobacco law and were not registered, and were not allowed to be sold in the Luxembourg market.

The products were purchased from 11 locations, including specialty stores, gas stations and tobacco shops, and the inspection focused on labels and packaging. AEV specifically checked whether the packaging had the necessary child safety measures and general warning signs.

Survey data showed that the labels of 27 products were not clear enough. Twenty products violated regulations, lacking icons, warning signs, and hazard signs, and some labels were not marked in German or French. The relevant parties have been asked to make voluntary improvements.

In addition, AEV also tested the chemical composition of 13 disposable e-cigarettes. The results of the survey showed that all products met the regulations and did not exceed the permitted range.

AVE specifically reminded that disposable e-cigarettes are electronic waste after use and must be recycled by Ecotrel. They cannot be thrown into black trash cans or the natural environment.
