Lincolnshire, UK, removed 5,062 non-compliant e-cigarettes last year
A report recently submitted by the Lincolnshire Trading Standards Agency in the United Kingdom showed that a total of 5,062 non-compliant e-cigarettes were removed from the shelves in the region last year.
A report recently submitted to the Public Protection and Community Review Committee by the Lincolnshire Trading Standards Agency in the United Kingdom showed that a total of 5,062 non-compliant e-cigarettes were removed from the shelves in the region last year.
The nicotine content and number of puffs of these non-compliant e-cigarettes exceeded the legal limit. According to local regulations, a disposable e-cigarette can be smoked no more than 600 times, but the illegal e-cigarettes seized can be smoked up to 10,000 times.
Trading Standards has sent letters to more than 100 shops across the region, providing guidance on how to tell if an e-cigarette's nicotine capacity, size and number of puffs meet the regulations. They also reminded traders that such products cannot be sold to minors under the age of 18.
