JTI establishes technical center in Romania to support operations of 38 factories worldwide

Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has established a technical center in Romania, which aims to provide information technology support for 38 factories and 8 R&D centers around the world.
According to Romania Insider on October 8, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has established a technical center in Romania, which currently has about 140 employees.
The company said that the team of experts based in the capital Bucharest provides information technology support for all types of activities of JTI worldwide, including production in 38 factories around the world, 8 R&D centers, as well as sales, marketing, finance and human resources.
Alexander Pitchka, general manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria, said:
"The technical center established in Romania is one of JTI's six centers worldwide and symbolizes our firm commitment to the development of Romania."
JTI has a total of more than 1,400 employees in Romania, distributed in the headquarters in Bucharest, factories, recently established technical centers and more than 30 sales offices across the country. In addition, JTI Romania also coordinates the markets in Bulgaria and Moldova.
In 2023, JTI's two companies operating in Romania, JTI Trading and JTI Manufacturing, had business revenues of more than 1.7 billion euros.
