Cart vape

"A cart vape" usually refers to pre-filled electronic cigarette cartridges, especially those containing THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive component of marijuana). In the Chinese context, it is commonly called "e-cigarette for getting high", which is not an official brand name but rather a term used to refer to a category of illegal electronic cigarettes that contain prohibited ingredients and can produce a special "high" sensation.
?? What is an "uplifting electronic cigarette"?
Here, "uplifting" does not refer to the "uplifting" of beverages or foods, but specifically refers to the euphoria, dizziness, hallucinations and other mental reactions caused by the consumption. These effects occur because these e-cigarette liquids illegally contain ingredients far exceeding the limits of ordinary tobacco:
Core components: Mainly include tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), synthetic cannabinoids, etomidate, and related substitutes (such as isopropanolpropazine, metomidate, etc.), and even samples have been detected to contain veterinary anesthetics.
Potential hazard: Criminals take advantage of the fact that e-cigarettes can be easily modified and the oil mixture is turbid and difficult to distinguish its authenticity, and they mix these components into the products for sale.
Serious incident: These additives are extremely toxic and may pose a fatal risk. For instance, a passenger was caught for bringing in just 0.43 grams of THC oil, which constitutes a violation of the law; and some people, after using electronic cigarettes containing veterinary anesthetics for over a month, suffered severe consequences such as brain atrophy, and even were unable to hold a pen.
⚖️ Chinese Law: Absolute Prohibition and Severe Punishment
In China, any form of "marijuana e-cigarettes" falls under the category of drugs. Possession, trafficking, and consumption will all be subject to severe legal penalties. This is completely contrary to the international policies that have legalized recreational marijuana in certain regions.
Criminal Offense: According to Article 347 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, anyone who smuggles, traffics in, transports or manufactures drugs, regardless of the quantity, shall be held criminally responsible and receive criminal punishment. THC has been strictly controlled by the "Supplementary Catalogue of Controlled Drugs and Psychotropic Substances for Non-Pharmaceutical Use" of our country. Any related behavior constitutes a criminal offense related to drugs.
Example of sentencing:
The Shanghai court once sentenced a gang involved in the production and sale of counterfeit products to a maximum of eight and a half years in prison and a fine of 900,000 yuan for their involvement in the production and sale of electronic cigarettes containing veterinary anesthetics.
Another drug trafficker was convicted of trafficking drugs and of facilitating drug use by others for selling electronic cigarettes containing isoproterenol to minors. He was sentenced to multiple terms of imprisonment for these crimes.
In judicial practice in 2025, there were already cases where defendants were sentenced for selling two electronic cigarette cartridges containing the prohibited component "Xin Tielaitong".
?? Shocking health hazards
The consumption of such electronic cigarettes poses a comprehensive threat to health, and the consequences could be permanent.
Abuse-induced serious diseases: Criminals keep looking for unregulated "substitutes" to evade crackdowns, causing the harmful components to constantly mutate. The recently seized e-cigarette cartridges even have a THC concentration of up to 85%.
Clear health consequences:
Irreversible damage to the nervous system: High concentrations of THC can cause cardiac and neurotoxic effects. Just after using it for about a month, it can lead to severe brain atrophy, affecting basic activities of daily living.
Respiratory system diseases: Prolonged inhalation may lead to severe lung damage, such as "E-cigarette or Vaping Product Use-Associated Lung Injury" (EVALI) and acute lipid pneumonia.
Cardiovascular system impact: Even with a small intake, high concentrations of THC can cause an accelerated heartbeat, placing excessive load on the heart and posing an acute risk of cardiac toxicity.
Mental and behavioral impairments: Long-term use can lead to anxiety, depression, mental confusion, and even suicidal tendencies, and seriously damage memory and the immune system.
?? How to protect yourself?
Given the prevalence and high risks of such illegal products, the following points are of utmost importance:
Put an end to the illusion of "addiction without breaking the law": There is no legal "recreational marijuana" market in China. Any such products are illegal.
Pay attention to addiction: These added substances have extremely strong physiological and psychological dependencies. Once addicted, it is extremely difficult to quit.
Be vigilant of any suspicious electronic cigarettes: Be cautious of electronic cigarettes with strange odors or packages, and do not accept products offered by strangers.
Seeking help actively: If you or your relatives suspect that you or they have come into contact with such products, you should immediately report to the police or consult a professional drug rehabilitation institution.
