10 reasons why your vape not hitting

Here are 10 common reasons why your vape (disposable or rechargeable) might not be hitting, along with quick explanations.

1. Dead Battery

Disposable: Most are one-time use. If the LED doesn't flash when you draw, the battery is likely depleted.

Rechargeable: Simply needs a charge. Check if the charging light turns on.

2. Empty E‑Liquid / No Juice Left

Disposables have a finite amount of liquid. Once it's gone, you'll get little to no vapor, often with a burnt taste.

Visible through a transparent window-if it looks empty, it's done.

3. Clogged Airflow

A common issue with disposables. Condensed liquid can block the airway.

Solution: Clear the mouthpiece and side air holes with a pin, or try a sharp, hard draw.

4. Flooded Coil (Gurgling / No Vapor)

Too much liquid saturates the coil. You'll hear gurgling and get little or no vapor.

Fix: Remove the pod (if possible) and blow through the mouthpiece into a tissue, or tap the device mouthpiece‑down on a paper towel.

5. Safety Lock / Auto‑Shutoff

Many pod systems and mods have a 5‑click power lock. If the fire button is unresponsive, click it 5 times quickly to unlock.

Some disposables also have a "child lock" that activates after a certain number of draws-check the manual if available.

6. Poor Electrical Connection

For pod systems: dirty contacts between the pod and battery can interrupt power.

Clean both contact points with a dry cotton swab or isopropyl alcohol (on a swab) to remove e‑liquid residue.

7. Burnt or Worn‑Out Coil

If you taste a harsh burnt flavor and vapor production drops, the coil is toast. Coils usually last 1–3 weeks depending on usage.

Replace the coil (or the pod in a pod system) to fix.

8. Air Sensor Failure (for draw‑activated devices)

Disposables and some pod systems use a pressure sensor. If it's stuck or clogged with liquid, it won't fire.

Try blowing gently into the mouthpiece to clear it, or in some cases, sharply inhaling with the airflow holes partially covered.

9. Device Overheating / Auto‑Cutoff

If you take very long or repeated draws, the device's safety may kick in to prevent overheating.

Let it cool down for a few minutes, then try again.

10. Manufacturing Defect / Dead on Arrival

Occasionally a device is faulty from the start-no light, no draw, no response.

If it's brand new and none of the above helps, it's likely a defective unit. Return or replace it if possible.

Quick Troubleshooting Flow
Check battery → look for e‑liquid level → clear airflow → clean contacts → replace coil/pod → if still dead, it's probably time for a new device.

If you're dealing with a disposable that won't hit and you've tried clearing the airflow and charging (if it has a USB port), most disposable issues come down to a dead battery or empty tank-both signs to replace it.
